Here’s an “in progress” photo of a Los Altos master bathroom wherein all of the walls received crema marfil Limestone ( 9 slabs total!!). Fixtures are by Rohl, 1/2″ Starphire Heavy Glass, a totally cool Sanijet tub and lots of understated ellegance.
We’re at a midway point here and took this quick point & shoot Blackberry photo for the record. Glass was installed 15 minutes before the picture. We’ll be adding another rainhead and the mirror shortly.
We’ll get the good camera out once were finished and the room is clean.
This is quite a bathroom!
Just wrapped up a shower as part of a bathroom remodel in Mountain View, CA. The owners of this townhome had us design a new bathroom wherein we reconfigured the fixtures, added a double vanity, relocated the toilet, and built a beautiful new shower.
Here’s the glass tile feature strip.
Since we often build our own cabinets and vanities, I thought I’d post a photo from our current job to show how our planning and effective processes make for a better build.
In each bathroom/kitchen/whereever, we post the design specs for our cabinetry during rough construction (Framing, Plumbing, Electrical, etc). This allows our guys to know whats coming and plan accordingly. It make for a better build.
The design below is a full bath vanity nailed to the wall of a current project of ours before drywall is installed…
This is a follow up to the 8/25/2010 post about a 5 year old house.
Here’s the replacement shower nearly complete. We’re waiting for shower glass and the travertine bench.
We really like how this one came out. The accent tiles on the back wall are from Emser Tile in San Jose.

(Sorr the color is off… Sometimes my Blackberry doesn’t do our work justice!)
Here’s Bart setting the ridge of a 600 sf addition in Sunnyvale, CA. This addition is going to be a new Master Bedroom. This is part of a whole house remodel.
There’s nothing too tricky about anything here for us… but please do notice our clean jobsite and attention to detail. This is our standard approach to this type of work.
This addition was framed and weather proofed in just a few weeks.

This house was built about 2004/2005. The master bathroom on the second story shower was incorrectly installed — it leaked.
The builder sent a handyman to caulk the pan and subsequently accused the homeowner of not maintaining the grout.
This damage has nothing to do with homeowner negligence. This is builder negligence and poor construction!
The homeowner called us.
After demo here’s what we found:
What’s terrible about this is that the structural I-beams (TJI) supporting the second floor are damaged too.
You can see the brown paper of the drywall under Joe here.
This means work downstairs too to fix the I-beams.
The picture below show the kitchen ceiling. We had to relocate lights, plumbing, then rebuild the I-Joists with the oversight of an Archtiect/Structural Engineer/Building Inspector. All of this work took place above a fancy kitchen island while the family lived in the house and used the kitchen.
Downtown Los Altos Kitchen:
Just closed escrow, they tossed the keys to us, and left the country.
We’re doing 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and more. We’ll handle all the details.
This kitchen is Regan era. Say goodbye.
If you had bought a home in 1953 you would have loved to have gotten this one.
It’s tough to believe this tile was set nearly 60 years ago.
Enough said.
Say goodbye.

Here’s one way to deal with exposed beams. Cofer the ceiling and wrap them.
Simple and elegant.
